Characterization of Vanadium-Doped BaBi4Ti4O15 Prepared by Molten KCl Salt Method

<p>One of the potential properties Aurivillius compound is photocatalyst. The four-layered BaBi<sub>4</sub>Ti<sub>4</sub>O<sub>15</sub> has a bandgap energy 3.2 eV caused having work function in UV light area. strategy to decrease doping with metal elements such as vanadium (V). In this research, vanadium-doped (BaBi<sub>4</sub>Ti<sub>4-</sub><em><sub>x</sub></em>V<em><sub>x</sub></em>O<sub>15</sub>) (<em>x</em>= 0, 0.05, 0.1, and 0.15)) compounds was synthesized through molten KCl salt method. diffractogram samples showed that BaBi<sub>4</sub>Ti<sub>4-</sub><em><sub>x</sub></em>V<em><sub>x</sub></em>O<sub>15</sub> 0.15) had been successfully obtained but still found impurities TiO<sub>2</sub> (rutile phase) at <em>x</em>= 0.15, Bi<sub>4</sub>V<sub>2</sub>O<sub>11</sub> 0.15. SEM image particle plate-like morphology. UV-Vis DRS spectrum lower energy.</p>
